I have a 20/20 Uncapped account at Afrihost, and Vumatel is the fiber infrastructure provider.

I have not had any problems with this since I've had it installed a few months ago.

What I do notice, however, is that when I'm streaming Netflix HD, the quality drops a little bit every now and then, like the resolution lowers. Now I believe Netflix scales this according to your bandwidth.

Every time I do a speedtest, though, it's always +-20 up and down, 3-4 ms ping.

I'm streaming using a MyGica ATV585, I'm not sure if the issue is with the device, but I suspect something's up with either the router or the fiber/connection.

How would I go about testing by fiber connection? A speedtest would not be of any help.

Mr Slootvreter, you using wifi or network cable to the MyGica?

Cable. I have a suspicion that it would be the router acting up, or the Mygica not being a powerful enough device, but I don't really know how to test it.

You could bypass the MyGica and stream Netflix on your PC and see if it drops quality. Im thinking you got one of those badass gigabit ethernet port routers. I doubt it is to blame.

Well why have I never thought about that :o :D
