With MWeb up the chute, and my backup TI account already capped, I'm looking for some working pre-paid. Have used Afrihost pre-paid in the past. I guess it would be using the same network as their standard capped accounts. Can anyone confirm that it is not affected by the Seacom outage?

I'd love to know as well.

Will Axxess prepaid from an Engen most likely work?

I think Axxess/WebAfrica SAIX prepaid (where they actually state that it's SAIX) should work, but going to Engen would be a lot easier for me.

No that is also Seacom. With the prepaid on their site you can select a saix account R119.00/GB Prepaid here http://www.axxess.co.za/prepaid.php Just go to pay and then select SAIX . Register on their site if you want the quick pay with mini one time stop order.

Nexus.co.za at R59/GB works - it is SAIX shaped, SAIX unshaped is R95/GB. Instant activation.

In another lifetime, perhaps.

I can always use WebAfrica Prepaid @R69/Gig or top up the TI account at R65/gig, but was hoping there was something cheaper.

G-Connect also works. R150 gets you 5,617,371,648 Bytes - 5GB. Getting 400KB/sec on a Rapidshare download.
Downside is that it lasts only 30 days. That's R30/GB.

Their prepaid top of price is R37 per GB though, still you can buy in lots of about 1GB.

Thanks for the responses. I decided to take out a data1 account from WA. R59 for the first gig, but I can use recharge to top-up, which is R45 per 3 gigs. It will also give me a good excuse to bin my TI account.
