Am I the only person having issues with Rain fixed LTE via Afrihost?

For the last couple of weeks I've been having regular periods of 1-2 hours at at time where ping times on even local stuff is upwards of 10 seconds, lost packets 40%-70%, DNS timeouts, and total connection loss - the router looks OK, all the correct lights are on, but tracing the packets shows that they're getting no further than my router.

Afrihost support is useless - I tell them I have no connection and they ask me to give them stats from a speedtest? No connection, no DNS, therefore no speedtest, right? Or is there some magic that allows speedtest to work in the absence of a network? Oh, they've done a session audit, which apparently sorts everything out - except that it doesn't.

Who can I get hold of at either Rain or Afrihost that will actually do something?

Do not bother many had the same issues this is how they get you to cancel the service. This is how they roll I also had wonderful speeds at the beginning 50-60 on speed test that quickly changed when they started their unlimited Rain packages. The business policies is not good, best you can do is try and find another service.

If rain don’t have coverage in your area but you still have the fixed lite product from Afrihost does that mean your data is from/on the Vodacom network ? Trying to work out as had issues but seems ok at the moment

I have been on the Rain fixed LTE since they started up - before the whole Vodacom thing.

I am also experiencing very slow and inconsistent performance with my Rain Fixed LTE package from Afrihost. When it first started a few weeks ago I was hoping that it would resolve after a week or two but I'm beginning to think that this is an indication of how the service is going to perform in the future and that I may have to move over to Telkom.

I don't think Rain will be able to offer decent Fixed LTE performance with so many uncapped mobile customers.
