Afrihost / Rapidshare very slow

Hi all

I just recently got ADSL and decided to go with Afrihost just for the remainder of this month (may). Then will migrate to mweb uncapped...

My question is that I am using rapidshare to dl some stuff and only getting speeds of 33-35kB/s on a 4mb line. I have done a speedtest now and its all good..


Do you know if afrihost shapes rapidshare heavily? Any idea's on why I am experiencing such low speeds

Yes they are throttling HEAVY

Even normal downloads are throttled to +-40K

Thanks avr-rulez...but thats just BS. I hate the fact that you pay for best service and then these idiots throttle you down coz they feel like it.

Do you know if mweb does the same?

Obviously something wrong your side.
They do NOT throttle Rapidshare - I have been using Afrihost uncapped and Rapidshare since March and always have speeds +400KB/s.

Ditto! I am quite sure they gave you the 386kbps line and not the 4mbps ... by mistake perhaps.

EDIT: scratch that, I have no clue, just get it checked out.
