Afrihost really slow

Hi Guys,

I'm hoping this isn't me, but for the past 3 or so days my Afrihost uncapped 4mb line has been really slow. As an example, watching twitch/youtube plays for a few seconds before it buffers again and i have to watch on the lowest quality just to get to watch for more than 10 seconds at a time. My downloads and gaming are also really slow.

When I test my line via the afrihost site I noticed that my line syncs at 3071 down and 507 up with 14.0dB and 19.5dB attenuation... I know that's not totally right but within tolerable limits?

I've rebooted the router a few times and done the "fix my line" a few times as well. Even upgraded the firmware on my router but nothing seems to work. I live in the fourways/magaliessig area.

Hope I'm not the only person with this problem

Have you compared your uncapped experience with the free 1GB account from AH?
What is your shaping policy in the Client Zone, although this won't impact on your sync speed.
Get the Web Africa free 1GB account as well to compare.

The fact that your line sync is lower than expected might point to a line or hardware problem.
You can try these 2 tools from Zertop. It might help identify where the problems are.
Download it and paste the results in the 2 threads.

Thanks RoMark, I've run the tools and posted the results in the threads.
Shaping Policy: 18.8% Download/ 6.25% P2P and says 100% real time speeds.

I'll try out the free account and get back to you.
