Afrihost - Service bad?

Signed up today with Afrihost as it came highly recommended by most of my mates. As I have an exisiting MTN SIM, thought use it can get it commission for data bundle. Quick web site, client zone - wow good experience.

Got home, thought let me switch on the WiFi RTR and lets test the SP. No signal ... logon to the client zone, just to find out that administration could not commission onto my MTN SIM and this was at 13:40 ... Surely, give me call or e-mail me at the time so I can do an alternate to get a SIM.

Call the 011 number, after 9 minutes on my cell thought nope I am wasting my cell time/money and my personal time.

Common Afrihost .... this is not what service is about!
 
This is what I don't like about new members joining the forum if they were reading the forums and being active and asking question on social media. Surely a Representative would have advised you. Read their FAQ on their website it clearly states that you have to be an existing MTN contract subscriber to make this product work. Also depends on who you took up the contract with.

OP, you should have just opt for the prepaid sim card, free delivery
 
Afrihost has a free chat client built into their website where you can ask them questions in real time. Much faster getting an answer than posting here after office hours.

Good luck on getting everything working.

Richard, you may noticed that I have been actively involved on the forum since 2009, maybe just not posting! Yes, you are correct, I should have opted for the prepaid sim, my point I am trying to make is surely an agent could have called me and state the obvious, which I should have read.

Until today, I have paid 2 x subscription (pro-rata) and is still waiting.
