Morning All

Would appreciate if someone can post Afrihost settings I have some problems to setup my Planet ADSL Router and require these settings.

Thanks!

Same settings as any other ISP - just using your Afrihost username (including the @afrihost.co.za) and password.

The only thing you need to remember for most routers is VPI 8 and VCI 35

They're on the Afrihost site. Some where under support. I looked but couldn't find them

Thank you all for your replies....got everything setup as suggested could it be the dialup-connection? I'm new to ADSL and opted to do self install.

What have you done so far? Can you connect to the internet with you Afrihost account yet?

If not, you have to dial into your router and put in the settings. When I did it, the default settings were correct and all I had to add were my username and password.

The manual should have an IP for you to put into your browser. Something like 192.168.1.xxx or 10.0.0.xxx

EDIT: With self install, you have to verify the install. Not sure where:o. Search for it on the forum as it has been discussed many times before

If you can only browse the Telkom website then you need to verify your line. If you not even connecting it maybe your adsl account you using.

Thanks Kaufies and OnePostWonder.....in the router I've setup the VPI, VCL, PPPoE and LLC and all the other settings as required. I called the Telkom tech line and they assisted me to setup a guest account and went through various settings but still I can't connect to the internet.... even uninstalled my firewall

Is the ADSL light on your router blinking/on/off?

Fransman I had the same issue with a specific router.

Look for an option to set the router to ADSL 1 instead of auto. Can you take a print screen of your setup page and upload.

Thanks to all the advise/info received from you guys!

I decided to call the Telkom Tech Dept again and yes all sorted out now!

Great weekend to all!
