I have created an Afrihost account and have the following problems/questions:

1) Entering of debit order details is on a page which Opera tells me is not secure. I have just a little problem with that :)

Solved - Secure on Firefox

2) VAT Number for company. I am not talking about their VAT which is apparently on the invoices. I am talking about our VAT number. Legally, in order to claim VAT, our VAT number needs to be on the invoices that Afrihost give us. Maybe we can use part of the postal address for this but it's impossible to say as I have no idea what their invoices look like. Any ideas?

Solved for now as we won't initially be purchasing for more then R3K

3) Invoices in the company name. How can I tell Afrihost to invoice the company instead of me?

Solved - Invoice automatically to company

Unless your invoice is above R3000 per month, you don't need to have your VAT number on the invoices. Here are the tax invoice rules:

Full tax invoice (section 20(4))
Required where the consideration is R3 000or more, or is a zero rated supply.
The following details are required:-
♦The words “TAX INVOICE” in a prominent place
♦Name, address and VAT registration number of the supplier
♦Name, address and VAT registration number of the recipient *
♦Serial number and date of issue
♦Description of goods and/or services (also indicating where applicable that the goods are second hand goods)
♦Quantity or volume** of goods or services supplied
♦Price & VAT

Abridged tax invoice (section 20(5))

Where the amount (inc. VAT) is less than R3 000. The same requirements as above, except that:-
*the Name, address and VAT registration number ofthe recipient; and
**the quantity or volume
does not need to be specified.

Afrihost invoices complies with section 20(5) of the Act, and I recon they will be able to fully comply if your invoice is more than R3000 by issuing manual invoices or requesting the additional information required.
