Afrihost Silver Home Price Increase

I received a mail which reads

"We've had to make a tough decision.

Unfortunately due to a variety of reasons (which I outline below) we need to increase the price of our Silver Home Hosting package by R10 a month as from the 1st of May."

The Rand is failing us.

Axxess just removed support from it's XXXS & XXS Linux hosting packages. And removed those 2 packages from it's website so you can't buy new ones. But I hear Afrihost is increasing its prices on the 2 smallest linux packages.

I'll be honest, I think the x-rate excuse is getting a little old and is being used a bit too much. Not because the dollar/rand isn't influencing hosting companies, but because the reason itself is being "ab"-used. Why is it that companies like Cybersmart and Web Crew are able to keep prices low? :wtf: Cybersmart is changing pricing a little here and there it would seem, Web Crew has put up the price of their SSL, but other than that - they're staying put. The excuse is overused.

Who is Web Crew?

Web Crew is a website design and development company that also does a fair bit of hosting. Friend of mine works there - I recently moved many of my clients' hosting packages over to them and they're really fantastic. They're not exactly Hetnzer as far as size goes, but their customer service (and prices, that's what we all care about, eh ) makes up for it...
