Does anyone know what is going on, or is also having issues? SMTP logins being rejected left right and centre.

We're working with MTN Business to figure out what is going on, it looks like there is a flood of outgoing requests - much higher intensity than normal - and this is causing serious delays with mails being sent.
Could you try out smtp.mtnbusiness.co.za and see if you are able to send out mail using that.
