Afrihost throttling HTTP downloads

Hi Afrihost, why are you guys throttling HTTP and FTP downloads to 20MB/S from international and local sites? My line is 1Gb and I used to enjoy full speed until the last week or so. Speed test (ookla) shows 900Mb/s which is great but when downloading files locally and internationally, the service is throttled.

Hey JohnDoe
There is no throttling applied to the pure fibre network.
If your downloads give the impression that your connection is throttled then we need to investigate that.
Please drop me a PM with your clientzone username so I can have a look.

I have replied to your other post. I think let's try a few troubleshooting methods by trying to connect to the ONT directly.
 
Hi, I am facing the same issue have done speed tests to various international sites and downloads are at 20m and uploads at 50m ??

Hi there,

Is the issue still ongoing if so who is the FNO and what area?

We don't shape or throttle downloads so this might be something else at play here.
