Speeds are mostly perfect, but yet, as usual, Youtube is pretty much a hit/miss situation.

Part of the country?

And in that case if your speed is perfect I can only hope that it is due to telkom working on the exchanges and dslams.

This is on my 10mbps uncapped account!

Don't think my issues are exchange. I've been getting timeouts in the middle the entire evening. Similar to what I got last week.

How is there not enough capacity at this hour?

Been with Afrihost for months and was never shaped. Now, it's a given. You can set your watch to it.

Turning into a bit of a PR nightmare as well. There was nothing but praise in their threads on MyBB / Facebook, now just constantly upset customers.

Was going great first thing this morning but now down to 20KB/s download. Mind you, it shows how quickly you settle for mediocrity, when I say it was going great it was going at 70 KB/s which I am now just grateful to get.

I'm convinced the inflow of mweb customers is the cause. I mean mweb started throttling on September 15th, and on September 17th the afrihost uncapped threads started getting hammered with complaints of almost continuous heavy shaping. Too close to be coincidence.

If that is the case then they need to be reigned the **** in. This is getting worse, not better - I can't recall seeing any shaping on last Sunday evening.

I still hold that a product's nature is as much derived from its historical performance as it might be from any applicable Ts & Cs. Now I half expect Afrihost to start pointing to their terms soon, by which the accounts are simply being managed within the boundaries set, but performance has taken such a dive that I don't feel they're providing the same product any longer. It's an abject shame, frankly.

Also, any bets on when we'll witness today's tumble into mediocrity? I'll place 20 Internets on 9:45.

Yup. I moved over from another ISP because I was hoping to combine good service and a good product, and it went well the first two weeks, but this past two weeks has been rough on the shaper - and I wasn't anywhere near heavy on data.
I was hoping to upgrade to 4Mb uncapped but I reckon it's going to be a much better option to stick with unshaped capped data for now - 50-75GB should be fine for me.

It quiet here without Afriguy and Afriman. Maybe Gian shaped them. :)

Afriguy last posted on Friday night and Afriman on Saturday morning.

Oooo ffs I cannot take this **** anymore. Now I am not shaped at all but look at my ping!!! They are really ****ing me off right now!!!
