Afrihost Uncapped ADSL Feedback (Pt2)

Have been patient since October now. If you want to wait till January of February, you are welcome to do that.

Unfortunately, I would like to use my internet during December and January. I'd like to be loyal to AH, but without ETA's I don't see myself hanging around indefinitely.

If by February they have their capacity sorted I can always come back if I'm not happy enough elsewhere.
Changing back and forth is easy & quick.

No one is going to receive an award for their loyalty

Afriman did say that the xtra capacity will be live around Jan Feb due to the network freeze

Agreed, more capacity makes me happy... hell i don't even use 200 gigs.

That being said, where is mr afriperson hiding? I need some feedback on why my line has been useless the last few days.

Lol 200 GB will be good for me as I have a 1 Mb line :p

True you can but where does one go when Afrihost is probably one of the best ISP's out there

Of course sir. I agree but we need to give a littl more slack to Afriman and Afriguy, they are doing there best and there support is world class :)

I agree. Huge fan of AfriHost but there is nothing wrong with keeping them on their toes.

I'm with you on leaving till some concrete info comes out of afrihost. Maybe ill come back if they sort out thier issues. But thier poor capacity planning is not something I should be punished for :/

As for all the "loyal afrihost" people encouraging people with issues to leave. You the same as the ANC supporters that keep voting for a subpar service. Enjoy it.

Haha that's super funny :p why bring politics in this. We are talking about a superior ISP that will be in business for many many years to come. They are probably no.1 in the ISP's rankings in SA :) They nowhere near compare to MWEB so don't go there if you looking for better :D :)

Afriman, Guy, Girl, Dog, I am happy to announce that it is once again midday and my issues are gone :D

We do our absolute best to plan for capacity. I can assure you, this isn't something that we've sat around and waited to see how things panned out.
As soon as we noticed the additional load more capacity was requested - unfortunately this takes time :(

The demand and uptake was simply beyond our projected targets, something that's really hard to plan for.

They were no. 1 before the capacity issues. Its the reason I moved to them in the first place because of thier great reputation. And while the customer support is great the actual performance of the account over the last 2-3 months has not been worth what im paying for tbh.

Also I'm not bringing politics in I'm trying to use an example people can relate to... xD.

So sir the extra capacity that you ordered from Telkom will probably be live next year Jan or Feb and we will notice or experience lesser shaping? Correct :)

Lots of ISP's are having the same issues or even more issues. Solely is to blame is Telkom and the current infrastructure where ISP's have no choice but to use :)

If you compare Afrihost with the ANC, you're gonna have a bad time. You'll probably move to an EFF ISP.

Afrihost is still one of the best out there. True story

Not often no.

I had issues at the start where my speed was all over the place but that was taken care of.

This seems to be something new.

I have no idea what DNS entries I have on the router or pc. I ordered the router already set up from Afrihost and have not changed anything at all. (Also not entirely sure where to go check)

Any help finding the reason for this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Second day in a row now with terrible speeds:

... People fail to read... Im comparing people that will blindly follow something even though its not giving them what they voted/paid for... I am not comparing Afrihost to ANC... goddamn... I am comparing their supporters though. Might be cause im in a bad mood cause I again couldnt watch twitch last night :D
