I know it's hard, but I hope you guys decide to stick it out. I mentioned earlier, I'm confident that we'll bounce back from this![]()
No doubt. The question is when.

I found this ironic on the AH site
Does Afrihost have enough capacity to satisfy it's client's needs?
When we changed networks, we ordered over 30% additional network capacity to ensure we had sufficient bandwidth available. However when it became clear that our client's bandwidth needs had grown (possibly due to Telkom upgrades over the October/November period) we immediately ordered additional capacity from Telkom. We are waiting for this to be installed by them, and we have made all the necessary upgrades on our side to ensure we can make full use of the additional capacity as soon as it arrives end of February 2013.
Time for some more capacity. Let's hope by December I can switch back to a Home package

And for your sake, I hope you move 500m away from an MSAN and get no less than 39.99Mbps VDSL![]()

VDSL in Waterfall. LOL. Probably not in my lifetime. The max we have is 4mb.

You never know!
Hopefully the Telkom upgrades will push you up to a stable 10Mbps![]()
Wish they'd do that for me but my area is not in their plans for the current financial year.
The shaping just won't stop. It's getting to the point where I'm suprised when I'm not being shaped. I am trying to download a video from a a site like youtube. That's being shaped. Why can I watch the video no problem, but download the exact video and have it shaped?
Hi AfriGuy,
This shaping is really affecting my ping.. I have been playing LoL to EU with 300 ping compared to our normal 195I'm really disappointed! I need an ISP which won't affect my gaming... Please can you assist!
I'm afraid it isn't the shaping affecting your ping, our network has seen (is still seeing somewhat) a very busy day. The latency overall does seem to be normalising slowly - please keep checking![]()
Thanks AfriGuy,
I think my exchange is having a few problems too..![]()
unfortunately even on a 50mb line he will only get 36 with your account
Let's not start this again - I almost always get my full linespeed, so no need to generalise.
It is 6pm. After a long day I would like a few hours of online gaming. As usual the Afrihost connection is totally usesless.
Gaming shouldn't be affected, the latency issues should have mostly normalised by now![]()
As mentioned in the PM, it has been like this for the past two days now, and when I switch to a Telkom test account, it works like a charm. It is not a cable or exchange problem.
