Hi AfriGuy, sorry I'm so impatient, any feedback on the LTE?

We've delayed it due to impatience :p
But on a serious note, from what I can see AfriMan has sent through the request to MTN to have this provisioned for you. I'm sure it won't be much longer now.

Not looking great :(
Could you drop me a PM with your info and I'll run some checks for you.

Hi Afri guy, My adsl has been shaped at 18% download and 6% p2p for the past three days..I understand that shaping is related to network load, but the shaping does not improve throughout the day. I have downloaded far less this month then i did in the previous two month (43 gb
)...please advise .

Yes, quite possible. It has been a long day and frustrating day...

To recap. I have a problem with latency. During the day things are slow, but usable, but from about 5pm to 12pm weekdays I cannot do any online gaming or other realtime tasks, like SSH or Telnet.

When I refer the problem to Afrihost, they tell me it is Telkom. When I speak to Telkom, they say all looks fine on their side.

Well after hounding them for 2 weeks about it, Telkom gave me a test account. Last night I had the same problem, I could not even log into the server, nevermind play any games. I switched ISP account to Telkom, issue resolved. I played for 2+ hours without any disconnects or latency. Well unfortunately the test account was for only one day, so today I am back with Afrihost and gues what. Its 6 o'clock and same issue as the last two days.

My good will towards Afrihost is starting to get very thin. I am getting the run around and not any results. If this is not resolved I will be looking for another ISP. Maybe even MWeb, now they have thrown all the abusers of their network.

We know that things are great at the moment, and I can only apologise for this :(
Our network has seen an increase in demand lately, causing more shaping to be applied.

The shaping runs dynamically, and according to the overall network usage and load as opposed to individual accounts usage.

Gaming shouldn't be affected, the latency issues should have mostly normalised by now :(

Just a heads up: A few pages back your boss said that he was happy that Afrihost were throttling games so much that they become unusable. He also said that you need a capped account if you want to play games. You may want to synchronise your statements with his.

Oh, how things have changed. The year was 2012. GP users had no issues. Cpt users...

:-)

It got better.

No, the year 2012 Cape Town users were crying about a 'Cape Town problem' that was in fact affecting every single one of Afrihost's customers. I guess you guys were just a bit too self-centered to realise :)

Please stop insulting other forum members, it's not nessicary.

Assuming you referring to shaping not throtteling ;)

My account is not shaped according the the account details page on the Afrihost user page.

Dude, honestly, give it a rest...Have you found a new ISP yet? If so, please go and "Bless" their thread with your presence.

If your only goal here is to insult other forums members I'd suggest you find another forum.

No, I also informed you that you were contradicting AfriMan when it comes to gaming on Afrihost uncapped accounts.

BTW, it's not more than a few pages ago when you thanked someone for insulting Afrihost customers. Have you forgotten that already?
