I too am experiencing issues. My NZBs have now crawled to halt. Lucky to get 3Kb\s. At first I thought it was shaping, so I tried the turbo charge service on the CZ, which did nothing to alleviate the situation. Its now after peak hours and still the same. At this rate I may have to reconsider my ISP choices, sadly. :(

Well its 1am here, and I'm still shaped at 18.8% Download/ 6.25% P2P. I kind of thought at 1am, that the shaping wouldn't be so intense. Boy was I wrong.

Its really weird how I haven't had an issue with Afrihost for months, and all of a sudden, their network becomes incredibly congested, and Afrihost has had to resort to shaping the hell out of the uncapped accounts.

Is there an issue with Afrihost's network? Or is this Afrihost's new stance on home uncapped accounts? If it isn't a network problem, I think its time I move my clients and myself somewhere else.

2:59 bloody am, what the hell are you guys pulling.

Downloads sitting on zero and once again, latency sitting at 350+ but hey, at least you don't shape gaming :erm: To be clear, I couldn't really care about the downloads, they will, or better, come down sometime but when it affects my gaming, eish.

its has been on Shaping Policy: 18.8% Download/ 6.25% P2P for like 2 days straight, NO MATTER OF THE TIME - early morning, mid-morning, morning, early afternoon, mid-afternoon, afternoon, early evening, mid-evening & evening ( get the point !!! )

if this is set to continue, you have lost another paying client, so :sick: of this BS crap :mad:

Upgrade your capacity...

If you have to put your customers on this policy 24/7 then it doesn't mean that you are managing your customers traffic. It means there isn't near enough capacity.
Just last week I thought that finally you guys had sorted your things out, and then this starts happening again.

Yeah its bad, still Shaping Policy: 18.8% Download/ 6.25% P2P - seems it was like that right through the night
 
Can't say iv had any issues besides my account getting dced now and then my download speeds are normal and my latency in wow is still 195ms

This is why I don't support this "we only shape when demand is high" strategy (which is open to abuse by the ISP) and much prefer the old IS way of doing things which punish individuals who abuse, not everyone!

Glad I left when they moved to MTN.

What are your usage stats? I mean, how do you use your line, like "when" do you move the most data?

Would everyone that has posted about the heavy shaping please post which Region you are in. It seems like most of you are in the South, but I just need some confirmation. Thanks!
 
I definitely get the feeling Afrihost has changed over to shaping based on usage (rather than when the network demand is high). I've also been shaped non stop for 2 days, yet it seems other people haven't been getting shaped at all.

I wonder what the threshold has been set to? My projected usage is sitting at 240gigs this month... so maybe its 200 or 150?
