Anyone else experiencing really slow speeds since the switch over to IS?

I'm on Afrihost Uncapped 384 and have been experiencing terribly slow speeds.

Here is my speedtest on Namesco, a London server:

Barely getting 10KB/s downloading Gmail attachments.

Have submitted a ticket but am yet to hear a reply..

Yip, thats why 99.999% of subscribers that actually use the "uncapped" part of the uncapped line are probably jumping ship or will soon.

deadly slow, apparently IS is having some congestion\network\voodoo problems and uncapped gets to suck the hind tit.

Since when have they had a congestion problem?
My speed has been PATHETIC for some time now... since been moved over to IS.

About since the 6th/7th. My Axxesslite which is also IS based is flying about 80% of the time, my Afrihost Uncapped is full speed local and 12KB\s international.

Here is the reply I got from Afrihost support:

This account is currently being managed/throttled are the IS FUP.

I'm not a heavy user so this is total ****e

Pretty much any ISP has better performance and less issues than Afrihost. Not a single issue since I left them and switched to Axxess.

i got to 10gb and they shaped me. cancelled my account and moved over to the 15gb capped option.

The IS uncapped accounts are managed over a 10 day Rolling Window - If you're in Top 20% of IS users for the 384kbs, 512kbs and 1024kbs connection speeds, you will be shaped. User Policy applies 24/7, Weekends & Public Holidays. For the 4096kbps Accounts, if you're in Top 50% of IS users for this connection speed, you will be shaped.

Meh.

Afrihost themselves don't have the slightest clue how these IS accounts work and yet they resell them. Just try to get the usage policy out of them. You'll receive several versions thereof. They're clueless. I was *****ed around for 10 days, eventually they come back and say actually that is just the way you're being throttled. Unable to open Gmail... yes.

It's the crap product but mostly the total disregard and lies given to me by Afrihost that has resulted in me cancelling all doings with them.

I just canceled my account with Afrihost. I am being shaped into the ground! I have only done about 2 gig this month. 2 F***king gig!:wtf: Pardon my french. This is just ridiculous!

I'm on Afrihost @ 384. Was switched over to IS a fortnight ago. Initially the speeds were shocking but have picked up in the past week. Does anyone actually know what amount downloaded puts you in the top 20% of IS users? 5GB; 10...?

I have a Afrihost "Uncapped" 384 kbps account that was moved to IS .... I was throttled to 5kbps and after four days without any improvement I contacted customer service. The guy told me that I have exceeded my 2gb daily threshold by a 100mb. WTF?? What Daily threshold? The Fair usage policy have changed so many times. I was not aware of the new policy!! My total Usage was only 14.772GB for the month. I am so disappointed in Afrihost. What a Joke!!

It's a weekend and I'm getting between 0.00 and 0.75KB/s for my news server downloads. Disgusting. And oh, has anyone had a look at their new look website?

with this IS account i think it ranges between 9gb and 12gb... their FUP is pathetic, they need to move away from IS if they want to stay in the game
