Afrihost - Very Poor Customer Support?

Hi all :)

Background:
I have my adsl line through Afrihost (Telkom) and use it mainly for online gaming (BF4, Ghosts, etc... and streaming videos.. e.g anime). I am online mostly late at night. It was fine until about two weeks ago now the line seems very unstable and streaming videos and online gaming is an issues. Speedtests give vastly different results. I've gone so far as to connect another pc and another route, the problem still persists.

I reported the issues to Afrihost support via their support email and initial received a next day response. The person I was dealing with did the usual tests and eventually allocated the call to Telkom. Telkom closed the call without coming to my residence. Not even a day later and the issue started again.

Long story short, I re-reported the issue to afrihost on the "3rd December" and have been sending reminders ever since.. To date no one from Afrihost support has responded. Even emails to their accounts/sales address have had no effect.

Anyone else getting this sudden bad services from Afrihost support?

Got any advise for me or should I have to consider switching services provides...
 
I am having a similar issue with Afrihost support. To date, not a single person has followed up like they said they would. Very poor communication and follow-up. Not sure what's going on there, as they used to be excellent.

I have spoken to Afriman, but imho he's not supposed to be the first line support.
 
I've had excellent support from them ever since I switched over. Have you contacted them by phone/live support on their site/facebook? They respond very quick through those channels.

Also can you post your line stats here? Is your router firmware up to date? How exactly is your line unstable? Does it work fine for a while and then stops working until you restart your router? Did AH pick up any problems on their side?

Telkom will be useless here, since all they can do is port reset which you can do yourself on the AH website. If they do send a technician, don't get your hopes up.

Well there's your problem. Any DSL user in SA should know how slowly issues get solved that way. Pick up the phone next time.

I have had problems with Afrihost that 2x half hour phone calls, 6 emails and 2 live chat sessions could not resolve.

I emailed accounts, contacted one of their reps on mybb via pm and even emailed Gian, TO DATE nobody has come back to me. I really cannot reccomend them any more. Used to have great service...

That sucks man. I changed to Afrihost business in March and their service has been great the whole time. Be sure to use Afriman here on MyBB.

I did contact either Afriman or Afriguy (dont remember) and have to date not received an answer from him (as my post states).
 
EXACT same thing happend to me.

In fact after all my complaining Afriman actually went ahead and cancelled my account and moved my line back to telkom without my request.

Looking for a new ISP at the moment.

+1, I think I broke that record: I made over 15 calls, message Afriman, email couple of times, plus live support(ChrisN 80% of the time on all departments) and issue was not resolved till date. :cry:

I got my phone bill, they go under service provider and is billed.

Mine they could not handle my DSL, no notification nothing. After 2 weeks, I had to phone and find out whats the issue. They reverse everything and till date waiting for my refund. I regret voting them as ISP of the year.
