It sucks that Vodacom doesn't support the TP-LINK NX510v :(

As it stands right now the Vodacom simcards are not location or device locked. They work in any router just not in a phone however as the product matures, these relaxed rules will likely change that is why we provide the info about required devices from the start to prevent a situation where it worked before but now stopped.

That said if you do signup and use it in an unapproved device when the changes eventually come into play you will be forced to use an approved device.

Hi.

The IP allocation is not fixed to CGNAT.
Allocated IP can be public or natted.
Hi, thank you for the answer! To clarify:
  1. How can I confirm if my IP will be public (not CGNAT) for gaming?
  2. Is there a way to request a public IP explicitly?
  3. Are there any additional costs for guaranteed public IP access?

Should you need a public IP, you can request it with any of our support channels. There are no additional costs.

These look great, is the routing similar to the MTN situation where it can randomly switch between JHB and CPT routing

We have cross connects in both JHB and CPT and yes for LTE we do load balancing.

I like that the router has bridge mode, can avoid double NAT and plug right into my Unifi UCG

That is unfortunate, you can really feel the added latency. With the Telkom one from Afrihost I can just reboot the router a few times and I am on local routing via Durban or JHB, when it routes to CPT browsing feels slow

Is it possible to do a similar thing to reboot and at least get it to route via JHB instead of CPT
