So I have one of the new Afrihost voice and Data plans but need some help.

My APN settings are set to afrihost but yet if I look on my account under "other charges" I am still being charged everyday and about 10 times a day for using a external APN!!

What do I do? Their support centre is not very helpful.

Firstly, delete the MTN APN. If you don't it will default to it all the time. Everytime you reset the phone or move the SIM to another device, it automatically resets to the MTN APN Default. So, if you do that, 1st thing is to go redo the Afrihost APN and DELETE the MTN APN again.

Normally, that is followed by 7-12 sms's from MTN with "special offers".

The same thing has happened to me twice, although, each time they have sent me an sms warning that I am using "out-of Bundle "data. Problem is, those "warning" sms's got lost between all those "special offer" sms's. Please Afrihost, we chose you, not MTN - make them leave us alone.

Sounds like an odd issue :(
Do you have any subscriptions outside our Mobile services?

I have deleted the MTN APN completely. I also get the SMS everyday.

Do you receive any MMS's at all?
I'd definitely recommend unsubscribing from any marketing SMS's too though. This can be done via *130*603#

I don't receive any MMS, I will unsubscribe right away.

I have being charged 3 times today already for external APN
