Afrihost voice with MTN

Could you PM me your account info so I can run a few checks on my end?

I joined the forum just for this thread. I've been experiencing the exact same issues and were told that I am subscribed to external services - which I am not. Those small amounts end up being a substantial part of my airtime.

One thing to update, however, is your APN for using your phone as a personal hotspot. This will still be the MTN one by default. I used all my airtime in a few minutes before knowing about it.

I still have the problem, I have even gone into the MTN store and nothing.

It is a lot of money considering how many times I get charged a day. I do not use my personal hotspot at all but it is changed to afrihost.

Afrihost needs to seriously sort this out!!

I assume you've edited/ removed the MyMTN APN and run the USSD codes?
 
That is not true. Your phone can't use the MTN APN for hotspot if it doesn't have it. I've often used mine for hotspot with the Afrihost APN and it works correctly.
 
Is it possible to post those USSD's from the welcome letter? I don't think I got the letter, maybe because I started during the Beta period. The USSD has however stopped the issue mostly. Still get one more message, after any top-up, eg buying a R5 sms bundle. But, it is better than 7 or 8.

On sign-ups on the public launch USSD codes are included on a welcome mail :)
