Just a note to Afrihost users.

This account status from Afrihost clearly indicates that I have a capped connection for 20GB. The monthly graph shows not a single byte being used as per the blue dots. The last connection shows no tel no has been used and no IP address captured.

This account has not been used on any router yet 4.13GB has been deducted from the 20GB I should have available.

Why would a ISP deduct data paid for if it has not been used?????

Would you mind clicking on the graph and posting that?
And that is the afrigreen account, your normal account shares with your afrigreen account in data used.

They share the data. Using data on either account will remove from your monthly cap, they are not two separate caps.

What's happening here is that your over usage from the previous month is deducted from the current month.
Check and confirm with them.

Surely if the account is CAPPED, you get disconnected and cannot accumulate "over-usage" ???

It isn't monitored in real time so you can run over (I have, by around 700 MB on a 2 Mbps line), but 4.1 GB seems a bit excessive? What line speed do you have ekkekan? I guess on a 10 Mbps line you could do five times what I managed, or 3.5 GB.

Oh I see...

Well twice now, on Vox... I have been unable to go past cap... it cuts 100Mbytes off before the actual cap. I guess it proves that Afrihost are amateurs.

That depends on how you look at it, I appreciated the leniency as it allowed me to finish the download in question without having top up. It's a spare account, so the difference being subtracted the following month was ideal for me.

No overuse the previous month as I use prepaid when I reach my capp and my connection is cut but it rarely happens.

No usage if one clicks on the graph.

Then I have no idea. Have you tried opening a support ticket?

I have opened a ticket. Have endless tickets open with smtp.afrihost.co.za server down whenever I try to send e-mail. Support asked me to log a fault with Telkom because their server is down although all my other internet services are working. Can it be?????
I get all my mails from another IPS server and did tell them it is only their server at fault. This has been ongoing for 7 months.
