AfrihostNetworkTester

I hope Afrihost support didn't recommend that pointless effort? You can replicate the tests quite easily using Windows built in network tools.
No, I just did it as I'm at wits end here, thinking I may have some major problem.
Regarding the Windows tools, well I'm not very familiar with Win7, actually I dislike it but have to use it to keep up with my clients.
I much prefer Xp :)

They're all there.

Just push the windows key and r then type cmd enter the input and push enter.

Type the following, pushing enter after each line. You won't see anything come up other than the prompt again because it's saving the info to a file. This is achieved by using "> filename.txt" which converts the file into a text file (.txt)

ping 197.242.144.102 > ping1.txt

ping 8.8.8.8 > ping2.txt

tracert -n 197.242.144.102 > tracert1.txt

tracert -n 8.8.8.8 > tracert2.txt

nslookup www.afrihost.com > nslookup1.txt

nslookup www.google.com > nslookup2.txt

nslookup thishouldfail.afrihost.com > nslookup3.txt

And then lastly:

Copy ping1.txt+ping2.txt+tracert1.txt+tracert2.txt+nslookup1.txt+nslookup2.txt ah-results.txt

To combine the files into one? Now these will probably be under your user folder but just do a search for ah-results.txt and I'm sure you'll find where they were saved.

The email Afrihost the ah-result file and question as to why it required 100MB to do this to simple task.

Just downloaded ver 1.02 on my win 7 pro 64bit PC.

ZIP file was 25MB, extracted to 54.4MB.

All green, but still getting timeouts when there are none.

AfriHost.......... how low can you go ???
They obviously saw this thread and realized their programmers made a cock up with the Windows7 32bit version, saw all my hard work reformatting etc, but never said a word.
In the meantime they re-wrote the app and if you now download it it still says 46.2 MB but it's actually 25.8 MB and unzips to 57.8 MB (59,187,175 bytes) and works 100%
