Actually, this process is MUCH easier if you are NOT an Afrihost client.

I had to get a secondary one for another person, so on my ClientZone, under the mailing section. You can generate an invitation code for someone. If you then redeem that invitation code it also takes you to the section where you can order a device and create a new account. Doing it this way I had zero crashes (I even did it remotely using teamviewer to assist the other person).
 
Take note on the Generate Invite screen is has no mention of being limited to only 1000 devices :)
