When the contract is up does the modem belong to you or do you have to give it back?

Maybe they should have offered a rental agreement aswell, where you could just give it back(if youre not happy) and cancel the agreement, sort of like a TV.
Then you could try it without commiting to 24 months.
After a certain amount of months it would become yours,I think Mnet origionaly did that. Also if anything happens to the modem it would be repaired for free or replaced as it wouldnt be yours.

Well you assume it will belong to you after 24months but does it actaully SAY in the contract ?

Well all indications they have given so far has implied ownership of the modem after the 24 month period. Also if Sentech are wise they would look at what is happening with SCO and realise that screwing your customers is not a great long term business model.

I don't think they would want a 2 year old piece of hardware back anyway. It isn't like you could use it with another provider at the moment.

The modem definitely belongs to you after 24 months.

Yeah it's kewl, it's just I am quite wary of assumptions as they are often wrong :P. But if they say it is your then it's kewl. :P

But now that does leaves the question, in two years time will they come up with a new pricing stratigy as you will have a mix of people who do and don't have modems. I still think it's stupid that they don't offer a choice now, but anyway .....

I dont know if you have a cellphone contract, but you get to keep the cellphone. After your contract ends, well, with cellphones you can just continue on montly basis. From my understanding of sentech. After 24 months, your service contimnes. You could probably renew your service (as with cellphone) and get a new modem, thought I think that's harder to do with sentech than mtn ;)

So nothing cheaper thought. So best option is to somehow renew the contract after 2 years, and then you have a brand new modem ;)
Ofcourse, if they tell me I cannot. Then I will close my account.
