I can get a brand new HD4890 Force 3d, for R1800, brand new. Is this a good deal? Will it run the new flash point?

That's a good price! I paid R2999 for mine 3 months ago. The HD4890 will handle just about anything you chuck at it. Brilliant card for it's price!

I'm just concerned, my PSU doesn't have PCI-E connectors, is there adapters in the box?

You need two PCI-E molex connectors to power the card. There were no adapters in the box of my unit (Powercolor HD4980). What PSU do you have?

I think it all depends on the brand you buy, with my card i got two IDE - PCI-E convertors but as already said, if your PSU doesn't have the connectors then it probably won't be able to power it.

should run it just fine. My 4890 didn't come with any pci-e adaptors but Im sure you can pick them up for really cheap

that makes it...36amps? or it shows 500w = 16amps and 550w = 20amps?

If its the latter then u might need a new psu...I know the older psu's concentrated the amps on the 5v and 3.3v back in the old days...

my box had pci-e adaptors, but didnt work when i tried it. bought a new psu with the pci-e and it did. possibly the amps/watts on the older one werent enough. I'm running a 500w PSU with my 4890 overlocked edition, and its working perfectly.
