Ok so at any given time, 2000 people could be at one place at any given time ? If I go to Booty Bay and all the Allies and Horde logged on is in STV I can run and see all of them ?

No. There are different instances of the same place. If you venture out you will still see players like any other normal MMO. Imagine in WoW, Everyone in shatt is doing the same quest in 1 spot. No chance will you be able to play, thus it has been instanced
Maybe a little confusion here.
-It does not work like GW.
-You fight along side other ppl in the world outside of the cities.
-The world is not instanced to you only.
It is like mini servers on your server, plenty of ppl on the same instance as you, if you want to play with a specific person that is not on your current instance, all you do is change your instance. Your UI will reload and your friend will now be visible to you...along with all the other ppl on that instance....even when fighting mobs in Day-Time mode outside the city.
But it works in WoW
I fail to see the reason for having a world on instance ?
Here we go again (had this arguement with other people on a different forum)...
WoW is also instanced. Its just each 'zone' is massive.
Outland, Kalimdor, Eastern Kingdoms are all instances
Have you never had a 'world server down' error? where say Outland was down but Azeroth was up
The best example is: AQ opening... practically the entire server would go to AQ gates and crash the server.
No I understand that. However there is only oneserver for that part of the "World" right ?
So there is not 300 Barrens's runnning at the same time having only 50 people on one of them. Am I making any sense ?
I dont know blizzard logistics and how their servers are run.
So AoC is divided up into zones then? Zone from one area to another?
I gotten that far in AoC to say whether its possible or not, but i do understand what you're saying
PS Blizzard isnt responsible for WAR
/CRY !
u know who does ?

you can switch ur instance anytime from the UI, each instance is named andu can switch to any1
I think it's time to call it like it is, Age of Guild Wars.
