No the defence wants it played to "show" that Agliotti said he was pressured by the NPA to say he bribed Selebi when he never did.

Patheti mockery of justice once again.

Agreed! This country has long seen better days. Corruption is now the norm for gvt officials. If you are not corrupt you can't hang with the cool kids and aren't a llowed to get your own 1.2m car
I don't see the problem here. If a video tape exists that proves the Scorpions blackmailed Agliotti into lying about Selebi then that is relevant. How is allowing it a mockery of justice?
If the scorpions/npa have an ulterior agenda behind prosecuting Selebi then we need to know about that. To allow them to blackmail Agliotti into lying - that would be a mockery of justice, not the other way around.
I think you guys just assume he is guilty, you want him to be guilty so you can prove to yourself how corrupt everyone here is and blah de blah - you want to be proven right at whatever cost, even if it means disallowing relevant evidence.
If Selebi is guilty and the prosecution has no ulterior motive then there is nothing to worry about. They wouldn't prosecute if they didn't have the evidence and were pretty sure they could win, would they?
