Want to upgrade my youngster's pc. P4G8x mobo, so it's AGP unfortunately. I've increased the ram from spare parts (ddr400 lol) which has made a big difference already. He's got an MX440 8x, so I'm thinking of changing to something better. I see take2 has one whole AGP card on offer, a gigabyte 6200. Is that my only option? Any ideas? He's using it mostly for gaming, torchlight, wc3 etc. I just want to improve his gaming experience, really.

Yep, your options on AGP cards are very limited due to most manufacturers discontinuing the technology.

I went from a geforce4 mx440 to a 6800(which died, supplier then gave me a 7800), which i got in 2007. Most recent games i could play were....FEAR2, but even then it stuttered during heavy action scenes. So i decided not to get the game until I upgraded. But now I'm going back to the old games which i never got a chance to play, Splinter Cell series, Prey, Prince of Persia Trilogy, and surprisingly Modern Warfare 1.

My advice, try not to waste time on AGP, unless if its your only option. There are HD3850's and HD4650's but the HD3850 is probably the fastest AGP card out there. But stay away from the 6200.

Excellent advice! Costs a bit more, but if you are sticking with the AGP platform then the 3850 512mb is the way to go.

I have a AGP 7600GS available, if the guy who is using it now does not pay me this week, your welcome too make an offer.

I have an HIS X1650Pro 512 MB (128 bit) DDR2 AGP (2 years old) in my old desktop PC, which I am restoring to its original configuration before getting rid of it. You can make me an offer if you're in the Pretoria area.
