Ok, so I've been running 2 X 1131 (?) decoders on xtraview for some time now. Problem is, the main decoder has konked twice in the last 12 months. So, I finally pursuaded the minister of finance (me wifey) that it is time to invest in an hd pvr. I'm off to the shops tomorrow to go and pick one up :D

The problem I have with installers, are that they are booked well in advance, and if you want it done now, you're gonna pay in blood (metaphorically). My question thus, is this...if I have the xtraview, I obviously already have a dual LNB. Is it as straightforward as swopping the main 1131 with the hd pvr, setting up the hd pvr and voila!?!? :wtf:

Or is there some sinister route :twisted: filled with frustrations and dissapointments in attempting this DIY? :(
Does the hd pvr come with setup and installation instructions (probably not)? :confused:
Is there a thread or specific instruction for this DIY that I've missed that anyone would be kind enough to share with me? :o

No it doesn't come with instructions but seriously simple to DIY :D
all you need is to buy is a 2x4 multi switch and a little cable if both decoders are in the same room if not more cables are required.

basicall most of your set up is already done s you have xtraview already
same room:
-the 2 cables out of you LNB go into the multi switch and 2 out of there go into the PVR and one goes into your secondary decoder.
the heert beat cable that was already there just no put that into the rf in or rf out of the HD pvr
Then make sure that the setting on the hd pvr for xtraview are set up (especialy the heart beat cable setting i mentioned above)
-all multi choice to finish setup

Different rooms:

same as above except more cable as you need to move the LNB cable from the second decoder back to the main decoder and into the multi switch and then back to the room from there or place the multi switch closer to the dish and run a new cable back to the main room.

Hi Isie;

Thanks for your response! I will give it a bash tomorrow, although I know from hard-earned experience, when you haven't done something before, it usually isn't as straightforward as if you've done it ten times already :D

Ive only done it 3 or 4 times so far, and that was upgrading from single LNB to dual LNB + xtraview trust me it is easy even the first time, + your is extra easy you don't have to swap the LNB or run so much new cables
