The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai announced this week that they will dispense AI-generated fatwas via an initiative called "virtual ifta." (A fatwa is basically a ruling on some point of Islamic law, such as: "Are Chicken McNuggets halal?" They're hoping to offload the some 130,000 fatwa requests they get each year.
