President Thabo Mbeki was silent on the topic of HIV and Aids on Monday while it was highlighted by his co-speakers at a May Day rally as a key challenge facing workers today.
What is it with this government and AIDS - Mbeki doesn't believe in it??! Our health minister recommends "herbs and multivitamins" and our ex vice prez would rather do the noble thing - and have a shower?

I don't know - maybe I'm confused - and AIDS really doesn't exist?

What do you expect from people that have **** for brains? is she perhaps a witch doctor
I wish I could believe that... reminds me of the days of the Nat government - only valid assumption was - these guys (with multi-degrees) must have a plan (that we're obviously too dumb to work out)... but then - they didn't have a plan - simply no clue (or rather - they had a plan, a clever one - but in the end it was just dumb - and we tried to tell them that.)

Same here - believe me - these people are not dumb (the multi-degree syndrome): but how does "not dumb" and "no aids policy" gel??! So - do they have a plan (80% of SA population dead due to AIDS) - or are they simply clueless? Or - is the ultimate plan a massive reduction in population - ergo, the problem will simply go away - because everybody is dead??!

There is a "No aids policy" myth, I know that much. I think people believe that if they repeat something often enough it becomes true.

Aids has become a huge industry, with those with most to gain (financially) promoting it the loudest. There is a whole host of flotsam and jetsam riding on this particular gravy train. Thanks to the SA taxpayer.

These are the same people who in the early 90's said that South Africa's population would be half or a quarter of what it is now due to the ravages of Aids. What happened to all those scientific models? Ah yes, they were total crap. But don't worry, they've just been brushed off, and updated, in order to spell doom for the next 10 to 20 years. After all, the government AID-spend bonanza has to keep on rolling to keep the "No aids policy" crowd in BMWs, Mercs, and overseas conferences.

Spoken like a true apologist. So there really is no problem - "no aids policy" is just a myth created by the media for good tv?

And now for a muscial interlude:

Everyone has AIDS
AIDS, AIDS, AIDS
AIDS, AIDS, AIDS, AIDS
AIDS, AIDS
Everyone has AIDS

And so this is the end of our story
And everyone is dead from AIDS
It took from me my best friend
My only true pal
My only bright star
He died of AIDS

Well, I'm gonna march on Washington
Lead the fight
And charge the brigades
There's a hero inside of all of us
I'll make them see
Everyone has AIDS

My father
AIDS
My sister
AIDS
My uncle and my cousin
And her best friend
The gays and the straights
And the whites and the spades

Everyone has AIDS
My grandma and my dog Ole Blue
AIDS, AIDS, AIDS
The pope has got it and so do you

Come on, everybody
We got quilting to do
We're gonna break down
These barricades

Everyone has
AIDS, AIDS, AIDS, AIDS, AIDS
AIDS, AIDS, AIDS, AIDS, AIDS
AIDS, AIDS, AIDS, AIDS
AIDS, AIDS, AIDS, AIDS
AIDS, AIDS

- Song taken from Team America: World Police
