Ok so i bought the retail version at Rage this past weekend.

Being a avid wow player I thought why not give it a try since you get 30 days included (1st mistake).

So after I bought a game card the next day I installed the game and went through the updating which felt like forever to complete. (It says AION Northern America even though it says Europe in the settings dunno if thats a bug?)

Finaaly the time to start the game was upon me :D when I got to the game login screen everything was in korean... WTF?

How can I fix this?
 
Even faster fix

The best way to tell what region you're on in the NCSoft Launcher:

The Live server list will have [East] [West] = North America, [Ger] [Fre] [Eng] = Europe

Right click the Aion button under Installed Games, click preferences, click language options and make sure English is ticked. Then go to the NCsoft Launcher settings (Think its under File at the top), choose English as the region, and restart the NCSoft launcher

Upon starting the game it should be in English. I too bought Aion at rAge this weekend and struggled. The only patch I downloaded was the 1.5.x version that was 525mb

I tried the download of the file and it worked 100%.

So I load Aion last night get to the update screen tells me the patch is North American great so I check the Zone its Europe and its set to English so no idea y its like that its downloaded 35% so far so have to wait for it to c
 
It's just a launcher bug. Most of us have it.

I quite like the installation woes. I wish everyone around the globe who plays it had the same issue.

It would serve as some sort of idiot-filter. You only qualify to play the game if you can figure out how to get it to work. :p
