Hello,

I would just like to find out from fellow South African Aion players if they experience allot of "Rubber Banding" when playing.

My latency is hovering at around 250 and this is the fist online game that i have experienced this, it never happened to me in WoW, maybe it is the server location or just the way that NCsoft did not think about "far" away players?

I am using a wired 4mb Webafirca Unshaped account and a service to lower my ping , but still the same sometimes it is fine and sometimes there is intense rubber banding.

We would be 2 playing and then i would rubber band but the other person in the house would not be so i would have thought if there was lag we would both be experiencing it @_@

well with 250 ping you should be doing great... =/ the rubber banding doesn't happen when you walk to close to stuff does it?... coz sometimes people get 'stuck' to things... and also, are you getting these delays during massive sieges?... like at 8pm-9pm or 11pm-12pm... coz those times are heavy super pvp battles, and alot of people tend to get dc or lag a bit in siege time..

oh but you just said that you were playing with 2 players on one account... yeah i noticed it did the same thing for me at times... only solution i found for that was to proxify one of the computers running aion... not sure why, but that makes it loads better... in fact proxifying aion will probably half your latency anyway...

try www.gamepath.net they have a free trial service

You won't experience any rubberbanding in WoW because your own position is being managed by the client. You will notice that other players will jump around when you get a lag spike, but not yourself. Unfortunately, that makes it easier to exploit it by farming bots.

Guild Wars and Aion manages the player position from the server, which does cause rubberbanding when you lag. While I was playing Aion I didn't experience any, and also not anything on GW recently either, although when I was playing GW on 3G I did get it often.

Cool Thanks for the replies,

What connection/ISP did you use Endev8003 when playing Aion and did you use any proxy service?

It was an Openweb account (I think). I was lanning at a friend's place at that time and it was on his adsl connection.

I wasn't using a proxy server.

On mweb uncapped and I also experience rubber banding now and then in Aion. Best ping I ever got outa it was around 520, its normally around 600-800 , but that does not seem to be the cause seeing as you rubber band too. My friend on a saix account sais he never rubberband and his ping is around 600-800 too, dunno if he is really not rubber banding. Don't really care as I find Aion pretty boring, will rather spend my time in Runes of Magic, or LOTRO when that goes free to play in a few months.
