Air cooler for small cottage ?

Anyone bought the Goldair from Makro at 1299 ? Any good for a small flat ?

Swamp coolers work best in climates with below 30% humidity and if the blower is strong enough to move air at high volume so as to exchange the air volume in the room a couple of times an hour. Spend the money and buy an AC

Can't install anything permanent as it's a rental.

Sure you can just take it out and patch it up when you leave or feed it through a window with the outdoor unit on bricks.

Have this one for 6 years, also not allowed to install split unit, bit noisy, sound like a fridge running in your bedroom, but is cold atleast.

You should be able to ask your landlord, and then come to an agreement as to the cost being deducted from your rent.
