These little consumer air purifiers do they actually work?

I see clicks has these ionizer leaf shape purifiers and I'm tempted to get one however it feels like a load of BS to me since I recall from chemistry and physics that if you ionize the particles in the air it will attach itself to all the furniture and stuff.

I know commercial air purifiers use actual mechanical hepa filters so just curious if these litte things are worth the money.

They're crap. There are "home" grade purifiers that have HEPA filters inside - rather get one of those.

I see dischem have a air purifier that claims it has a hepa filter but it's only R750 so my gut feel still says BS.

Do you perhaps have a link to something that is more trustworthy than the leaf ones at clicks?

I know plenty of commercial ones but that might be a tad bit overkill for the living room.
