Hi,

Please can someone assist me. I took my Chevrolet Aveo (2010 Model) to GM yesterday for a service (90k). I also asked them to look at my aircon which hasn't been working for a while. They came back with a quote of R11k!!! for the condensor and labour (R1,300).

I have the Part Number (95227758) and found it on Ebay for R1,070.65 but I am worried there will be exhorbitant import fees etc. Any advice? Thanks

you better off buying a used original one from a scrap yard or a pirate part. it will cost 2k max. labour 1k. google and phone around.

Their first step was for an aircon service - (R680) which included what you described. But they said they couldn't even do that because the condensor was blocked.

I have just spoken to someone at an auto aircon place and he said he has never ever had to replace a blocked condensor on a Chev Aveo. He said mine may be the first but he seriously doubts it. I am taking the car to him in the morning for a second opinion.
