Midea looks better, is loud but less than the alliance.. other than that, can't say..

10-year warranty, as you mentioned.
And they just work. I have 2 x 12k BTU and 1 x 18K BTU.
I have 2 x 24k BTU Samsungs as well. All of the above are inverter models.

No issues with Samsungs. But if I were to buy another one today, it would be Midea.

My two cents: I have a 9,000 BTU Alliance installed in December 2025, and 6 weeks later got a 24,000 BTU Alliance. The Midea units were about R2k more expensive at the time, so I didn't think it was worth the extra cost.

However, my sister—who lives 1 km down the road—got a 24,000 BTU and two 12,000 BTU Mideas installed from the same installer i've used and wow, they are much quieter than the Alliance units.

Another factor to consider is the app: the Midea app is a lot nicer and provides far more stats if you're into that sort of thing.

how big off a difference is that noise

like we have never had aircon before so new noise we will get used to it

also yeah i saw that midea app, has lots of nice consumption and stuff

its working out to total of R1500 more

i think maybe i will go midea

the midea breezeless is around 5k more
 
both aircons fitted

only krap about this cheaper units is they swing up and down using the remote ..but left to right its manual

used rightair and they been brilliant. the guys who came out did a very good job and took around 5hours for both
 
so this one guy came out to me and showed me an app that had consumption and he was using the midea aircons

i downloaded the smart app but it doesnt have power monitoring

those who have midea aircons, is it the aircon cause its bottom of the range that i dont see the power usage on the app ?

Yip. You need the more expensive aircons for this to work.

But also honestly......noone sits there monitoring cooling or heating expenses while sitting there in comfort.
