Hi

I’m currently on Telkom mobile where the service and coverage isn’t great. My understanding is Telkom roams on vodacom but my vodacom sim has much better performance.

I’m now thinking of moving to Afrihost Airmobile so was wondering how it compares to moving to MTN itself.

MTN super flex seems very similar in pricing to the new airmobile deals; I’m just worried about network speed, reliability and performance

I'd go afrihost because of their billing and account management app, along with mybroadband based support.

Just be aware vowifi and volte don't work on the new Airmobile.

But, doesn't Telkom roam on MTN?

Been flipping back and forth between Vodacom and AirMobile and it’s good to have both, but I’m not sure I’m ready to make the jump permanently yet. Vodacom definitely has some coverage holes in Johannesburg where there’s just zero data network. Flipping to Air Mobile has saved the day a couple times, but the network tends to be LTE and not 5G in those spots (whereas Vodacom is 5G everywhere and just doesn’t work everywhere lol).

Not sure but it feels weird seeing LTE in use in 2024.
