Hi All,

I'm looking to buy AKG K451 headphones and I've spotted a few SA online retailers but I was wondering if there are any brick-and-mortar stores selling AKG headphones.

You're better off trying to get them overseas.
I bought my Beyerdynamics DT990 Pro from the US at less than half the price they cost here.
I just asked a friend to re-mail them later.

It's not always possible but certainly a far better option imo.

I've seen them listed in the UK Amazon store at GBP57 so I doubt I'd manage to get them shipped for less than the R1300 I've seen them listed online for. Thanks for the suggestion.

Yeah this is pretty true, but I found that some distributors screw us over more than others.

In my experience, Roland and AKG ends up being twice the price when it hits SA shores, but Novation and KRK equipment are pretty much exchange value + taxes when they hit SA shores which is amazing.

On topic though I got my AKG 240 MKii from Marshalls at almost cost me R1700 however the dollar price is $100 which just goes to show how much I was ****ed over. I have also seen well priced Sony MDRs locally as well

I paid R1300 for my DT990 Pro, they go for R3450 here so the postage was well worth it.
It's not always feasible though.
 
Thanks to everyone who responded. Just picked them up at Sounds Great at Clearwater mall (called the distributor as suggested by kayvee) for R50 more than the cheapest online store price.
