Where are these stored ?

I notice they appear on the folder, but there's no picture file in the directry. Also if you copy the directory to another HDD, the picture goes along too ... so it must be there.

Hidden perhaps? Or a special directory picture thing?

Some software, including earlier versions of iTunes (not 100% about the more recent version though) embedded the album art into the ID3 tag.
