Hi there

Can someone just help here please? I had alcohol installed, but somehow windows tells me detecting new device (virtual drice letter ok), but I don't see the extra letter in my devices. So installed old copy of Deamon tools, just incase alcohol is corrupted, but the same thing???

I use XP SP2!!
Reinstalled, and uninstalled alcohol deomon tools, nothing!!!!!!!

thanx
Chris

The first question will be how you installed alcohol ... via a glass or via the bottle :D

Sorry, I have no idea what you are talking about, but I couldn't resist :p

right click on my computer, goto to Manage, goto Disk Management, and see if you can see the drive listed there. Sometimes windows does wikky things with assigning drive letters.

If the drive is not listed their, then something really wrong with your installs or your OS.

Check in Disk Management that the drive is not conflicting with an existing drive letter.

Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Storage -> Disk Management.

If you find the drive in the list, right click on it and change the letter

This post made me sad :(

Anyway, yeah, have a look in the disk management dialog, perhaps the virtual drive is disabled.

check that the number of virtual drives configured in both Alcohol and Daemon is at least 1. IIRC, they both default to 0 virtual drives.
