What alcoholic drink has the least kilojules?

I heard someone say that Rum & Coke Light is the best. But Rum tastes awful so there is no way I'll ever drink that. What would you say is the better drink:-

Gin & Tonic
Vodka & Lemontwist or Orange juice
Dry white wine
J&B & soda
Klipdrift with Coke Light

Or something else altogether?

greater alcohol = bad
greater sugars/carbs/fats = bad
so what you want is something that has a low alcohol count and is mixed down further with water
a wine spritzer is good.

tonic and lemon twist have a lot of sugar - rather try to use a 'light' mixer
fruit juices are a bit better as they have fructose, but any final mix might end up with 5-10% alcohol
beers and malts are low alcohol but high carbs. light is better.
i should imagine spin, storm, brutal fruit etc have a lot of sugar unless they use a non-nutritive sweeteners
cream-based liqueurs have the highest calorie count.

vodka + lime cordial (might have a bit of sugar but cant be that high surely)
jack daniels + lime cordial

alcohol is converted in to sugar in the blood so the lower the alcohol % the less kilojules.

It is interesting that the higher the alcohol content is the more weight you gain. I thought it was the other way around... A glass of red with 14% alcohol (4 glasses & you reached your limit) is better than 9 beers (5%) till you reach your limit. Interesting indeed. But what GforceD said makes sense.

Just drink what you like...

I'm sure drinking isn't really what makes you fat, or gain weight drastically.
Don't limit yourself on what you like just because of a couple calories.

Exercise more often, it'll burn all those calories and you will be able to drink what you like without feeling guilty about the calories. :)

+ 1

Just drink more and eat less and it'll balance out. I find if I stay drunk I tend to forget to eat anyway.

Also, you have to drink more of the half volt kark. Just do whatever. +1 for drinking and not eating. Excercise helps too- brings your tolerance down=cheaper :D

4 glasses of wine is a full bottle isn't it? I reckon 1 glass of red will put you very close to the limit at the moment.

Interesting approach in this post though. I had never thought of linking the driving limit to getting fat. If I read this right then drinking higher alcohol % makese you drink less because you need to be able to drive. So driving makes you lose weight!

My choice for least fattening drink would be Whiskey and Soda. Light beer is also a good option I think.

I have a mate who can very convincingly prove that drinking makes you lose weight. He has an argument that revolves around the energy required by your body to process the alcohol is more than the calories it introduces into your system. One catch is that you have to be quite drunk to understand his theory.

Fat chicks should go on a diet and stop drinking alltogether.

The myth about drinking your fat away is bull****!
