Alec Hogg's five life-changing books.

  1. 'How to win friends and influence people’ by Dale Carnegie
  2. ‘7 habits of highly effective people’ by Stephen Covey
  3. ‘Influence’ by Robert Cialdini
  4. ‘Fooled by Randomness’ by Nassim Taleb
  5. ‘The Intelligent Investor’ by Benjamin Graham (Warren Buffett’s favourite book)

I tried to read Stephen Covey's book once.
I can't remember why, but I didn't finish it.
Must try and give it another bash.

New let me save you time and tell you to download the audio books :D

The first one is the best and just plain logical.

I have read book 1. Should be required reading in school imo.

I recommend '4 Hour Work Week' by Timothy Ferriss. The audio book is available on YouTube if you are into that.

7 Habits is a great book. I also didn't finish reading it, I think it's because it required too much effort from me.

Another book I would recommend to anyone is "The 15 invaluable laws of growth" by John C. Maxwell

1. Noddy goes to town.
2. Curious George
3. Richard Scarry's biggest Word book ever
4. Green Eggs and Ham
5. Winnie the Pooh

I loved those Richard Scarry books as a kid.
I don't know anything about him.
Off to Google Richard Scarry.

The Diamond Age
Good Omens
The Far Side Collection
1984
Management for Martians

Special mention to Garfield, Asterix and Giles (And all of Sir Pratchett's works)

Those books are the reason I bought 'Turkey Farming for Dummies'(Its really about farming with turkeys) at a sale, and snuck it into the office library while working at a multifund manager. I put it on the shelf next to The Black Swan. A few weeks later the Boss came walking into IT and said 'Nice one, wise ass. But I'm keeping the book'

A few that changed my way of thinking:
Rich Dad, Poor Dad - Robert Kiyosaki
Making Ideas Happen - Scott Belsky
Making Money Out of Property in South Africa - Jason Lee
Total Self Confidence - Robert Anthony
4 Hour Work Week - Tim Ferriss
