Are there a lot of retrenchments at Alexander Forbes ATM?

I was told some people were retrenched and I am curious about the state of the company.

Thanks.

Well someone has to pay for the skimming/bulking that was done and we all know it is not going to be the big wigs who'll lose their jobs...

What is "a lot" ? I work for a US firm and we retrench 10% per year. It's seen as good corporate governance to get rid of dead wood. interesting that it's different in SA where it's seen as a sign of a company in trouble.

Most big firms in SA are retrenching at the moment. The figure I hear at department level is 5% to 10% of the work force.

Generally, the term "retrenchment" is used in SA with reference to a company in trouble.

I suppose if people are 'gotten rid' of by way of VSPs, it can also be seen as retrenchment, regardless of the state of the company.
