Just a quick Google:

980M gives you about a 30% improved performance over 970M. (See benchmarks here: http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-980M.12...)

As for FPS at 1080p, 980M will allow you to play on ultra settings with decent FPS. 970M can still get you 40-50 fps at ultra settings.

I would go for the display model unless something is wrong with it, what's the warranty on it like? Same as if you just bought one?

I'm personally using an Asus currently, lovely machine, been playing Fallout 4 for days now at the recommended setting which turned out to be ultra,not a single stutter ever. To top it off, the thing is quiet.
