Has anyone used www.aliexpress.com to import goods?
What are the do's and dont's?
What are the lessons learnt?
Thanks

If so, did you need to send them a copy of the credit card , your ID and credit card statement.
They asked me for this information. I declined to give it because of possible fraud.
It is like ebay, ... there are different sellers - always be weary of the seller and look at his sales/feedback history. I have used it with success in the past.

Guys, its not like eBay, at all! This ^^^
Just make sure the seller has a good rating and more than 20 sales.
I pay with credit card and got my money back when seller was bogus.
I often buy at aliexpress , just do your homework with the seller and all should be Ok.

AliExpress works by holding your money in escrow until you confirmed you've received the goods in good condition.
So the process is:
1. You buy the goods and pay with your credit card
2. AliExpress debits your account with the amount in question
3. The seller gets notified of your order
4. The seller ships your order.
5. You receive the goods and inspect it.
6. If for whatever reason you're unhappy, AliExpress will NOT pay the seller and you can asks them to refund you.
Customs is for your account. Most of the sellers mark the parcel as "gift" or "sample" anyway (they know the drill) so you generally don't have a lot of customs charges to payWhat about customs?

No you won't.Ok. The only risk is then if you pay customs and then wish to return you wont get back what you paid to customs right
