My printer red died.
Now I want to replace it.
I want a print/copy/scan, but also CD printing, but its either copy/scan or CD printing.
do you know of a real all in one .

I cannot remember an affordable all-in-one device with a disc printing facility. I've always used the Canon range for disc printing.

How much have you got to spend? i just a bought laserjet 1415 scanner, copied, fax and colour printer for 3.2k. Really nice. Doesn't do cd printing but got some paper than you can print and then stick on the disk. Works pretty well.

I am not sure you will find one that does fax but here are epson choices

Lightscribe is good but very limited in terms of a pretty colourful designs :p

Try a HP Photosmart Premium which provides Print, Fax, Scan, Copy, CD Printing and is wired and wireless. Got one when when my old all-in-one died. Works pretty well.

If its going to print CDs its going to be a low volume "photo" type printer which is going to be heavy on ink for normal printing.

An hp officejet 8500plus can be had for around R2200 and does everything except cd printing. Print, copy, scan, fax, adf, automatic double sided printing, email, memory card, flash stick, usb, ethernet, wifi, single ink cartridges, 2200pages black/cartridge(R295).

Most modern home/small office lasers won't get near 2000pages/toner and the toner will cost well over R500.

I would suggest the hp officejet 8500 and try stick on cd labels. If it doesn't work out get a second specialised cd printer such as the cannon cd printers.

I have a Canon iP4840. It is heavy on ink. I only print CD's and documents. Text only. I replace all my cartridges at least every 3 months. I think I must have a look at the HP Premium CD printer.
