All ISP's: Please add IPv6 support on speedtest.net servers

Hi

We sometimes run into cases where the GPON vendors update ONT / OLT firmware and things stop working, but in general it's been working well. The OLTs generally protect against rogue DHCP servers. We currently do static leases only for v6.

Dynamic IPv6 is a nightmare. Only a handful of FNO's can do it properly and have proper dhcp snoop and mac forced forwarding configs that don't break things.

It seems like PPPoEv4 and static v6 might be the best solutions if you consider all the variables.

Hi

We try to avoid PPP where we can.

We have a dynamic DHCPv6 system running in our lab, using Kea hooks to add and remove the PD routes. We'll probably move that to production towards the end of January. Should save a bit of time managing the static leases and get more customer routers doing IPv6 automatically.

We using Kea already. Good luck with FNO's ;)

I recently contacted the person who set up ipv6wallofshame.co.za - it will probably not be maintained much longer.

I think there are a few more interesting attributes to rate / rank ISPs and FNOs on. The MANRS stuff and dropping spoofed packets for example.
