All new fiesta on fire

IMG-20190218-WA0181.jpgReceived this yesterday and apparently the fiesta caught fire on its introduction to the motoring journalists.

Seen a post on Fb saying it happened on the N2.
Will see If I can find an article.

Nothing to see here. Ford was aiming for an explosive launch, and they achieved it:thumbsup:
 
Geez that engine compartment is so small. You probably have to remove the block just to change the oil filter.

The engine is also small, 3 cylinder, 1l. But I agree that most probably you will have to go underneath to do the most basic maintenance tasks, my sister has the older 2006 Fiesta and the oil filter has to be removed from below, even with that spacious looking hood.
 
That looks like just outside Bay West Mall here in PE

Wow really? 1L Ford engine - that is so small but I guess there is a market for it.
My next car will definitely be a diesel though, and I am very impressed with those Ford diesels as on the Focus.
However they make maintenance so unnecessarily difficult these days, compared to old cars.

True the first thing I look at when buying a used car is space around the engine, if you can't even DIY on basic items such as auxiliary belts then you'll be spending a fortune on an old car.

I wonder if we will. The type of journalist typically invited for these launches are usually wined and dined on fully paid trips by the manufacturer for a nice review. They ("journalist") might not want to jeopardise the chance of a future invite.

Still, something like this would be hard to ignore. Also it happened yesterday according to OP, so maybe an article will come out today.
